Ethical Issues for the SUD Recovering Therapist and other Recovery Issues

  • Jewish Family Service 6555 West Maple Road West Bloomfield Township, MI, 48322 United States (map)

Course Description:

Participants will increase their understanding of healthy recovery, increase recognition of ‘reasons’ for entering the field of mental health/social work and SUD disorders and other recovery issues, facilitate their ability to recognize what is helpful versus harmful in the professional relationship in recovery, increase their awareness of who is being served in self-disclosure, increase their awareness of the benefits to self and Client for self-care of the Social Worker/Clinician, and have opportunities for discussing topics in small groups.  We are always in need of reevaluating our boundaries and ethical considerations in our work with Clients.  This seminar will help us focus our awareness on why we’re in the field, and are we truly growing and improving with experience.
