When a life event so completely shakes the foundation of our willingness to have human relationship that traditional therapeutic “trusting relationship” is no longer a viable approach to therapeutic intervention? In this presentation, we will be examine the myriad of therapeutic and diverse ways that animals seem to help humans overcome trauma. This is an opportunity for social workers to learn best practices in trauma informed animal assisted intervention.
