LGBTQI 101

  • Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital POB Meijer Conf Center 305 Lafayette St. Southeast Grand Rapids, MI, 49503 United States (map)

Course Description:

Healthcare is complex and providers know this isn’t slowing down. The client population is drastically changing. The demands on providers to understand, navigate, and provide excellent services to various populations has become intense. One of the fastest growing areas gaining a great deal of attention is LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Queer/Questioning, Intersex) medicine. It’s important that social workers understand the unique needs of this population, particularly in terms of assessment and treatment, referral for healthcare services, and advocacy.
