Course Description:

This workshop will address the new maladaptive behavior associated with our ever-increasing “acceptance” of smartphone and tablet use, either between couples, within families, or in public. This workshop will explore the new phenomenon - recently dubbed “phubbing”, address connections to physical and emotional consequences from misuse or dependent behavior, and learn the difference between “bad habits”, out of control and addictive behaviors. Participants will also gain strategies and interventions to treat symptoms that cause emotional dysregulation and distress associated with smartphone, tablet or social media use.
