This home study course identifies the proper classification, co-morbidities, and diagnostic approaches to eating disorders. In particular, the study lists the diagnostic
criteria for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. The author further delineates subtypes of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa and
discusses accompanying psychiatric symptoms for each diagnosis. The social worker who completes this course will be able to address the etiology and prognosis in
eating disorders, the common physical signs that are seen with the various eating disorders and the physical complications that arise from anorexia nervosa and
bulimia nervosa.
