Course Description:

In the last 20 years the legal status of cannabis has evolved, leading to a change in the variety of products and who uses them. Due to the increased number of patients reporting or considering the use of cannabis, it is important that health service professionals are equipped to appropriately provide individualized guidance. This presentation will describe at least two differences between recreational and medical cannabis products and their use and explain at least three consequences of recreational cannabis use in adolescents and younger adults.

Additionally, at least three consequences of medical cannabis use in middle-aged and older adults will also be discussed and three challenges faced while pursuing research on these topics will be identified.
