Course Description:
Many toxicities from cancer treatment are considered “cosmetic” related and not valued in clinical practice, and yet these body image changes contribute to morbidity and reduced quality of life for patients. It is important for health professionals caring for patients with cancer to provide a holistic, comprehensive, and patient centered approach. This presentation will provide information on the different treatments available for chemotherapy induced alopecia and their limitations. Additionally treatment for post mastectomy pain syndrome and exercise recommendations for patients affected by cancer will be presented.
