Course Description:

This course will provide an overview of special education and its processes, including: Suspicion of a disability, requesting evaluation, the evaluation process, eligibility determination, creating an IEP, appropriate services and/or placement, progress monitoring and reviewing and revising the IEP. Special focus will be given to the area of autism and the role of sensory integration and other intervention techniques.
