Marginalized Populations: A Step Forward in Understanding

  • Lansing Community College 515 North Washington Square Lansing, MI, 48933 United States (map)

Course Description:

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults have unique physical and mental health needs.  A history of trauma related to LGBT identity makes it more difficult for these individuals to trust health and human services providers. We will explore the challenges and needs of this population and learn interpersonal skills necessary to create safe and affirming relationships with LGBT older adults.
