Challenges to Developing a Therapeutic Alliance: Two Case Studies

  • Micchigan League, Hussey Room 911 N. University Ann Arbor, MI 48104 United States (map)

Course Description:

Paradoxically, for some people the very issues that bring them to therapy also make it difficult for them to engage in treatment.  Fear and self-hatred can present such difficulties.  How do we work productively with such people?  Two case presentations will illustrate these challenges.  Commentary by discussants will reflect on them.
