The conference is designed for all Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) professionals and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) professionals including physicians, nurses, law enforcement professionals, children’s protective services workers, prosecutors, mental health providers, and others. Workshops and keynote presentations will focus on how all CAC and MDT members, can contribute to the multi-disciplinary team model when responding to, investigating, treating, and preventing child abuse. Workshop topics include (but are not limited to): forensic interviewing of children, impacts of trauma in children, vicarious trauma in professionals, mental health treatment for abuse victims, victim advocacy techniques, innovation in the CAC model, investigative techniques, prosecution of child abuse cases, responding to abuse in special populations, dynamics of abuse, and characteristics of offenders.
