Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD

Course Description:

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a 12 session evidenced based practice that will allow individual therapists to have another therapy modality to better serve individuals with PTSD and trauma. The CPT training will provide education on what PTSD is, how individuals utilize assimilation, accommodation, and over-accommodation to process information from traumatic events they experience, assisting the individual identify the stuck-points they have due to their trauma, reviewing impact statements with individuals, differentiating between emotions and thoughts, and Socratic questioning. The training further provides education on how to work with veterans and/or active military personnel. The training also provides all materials that are needed during therapy sessions as CPT is a structured modality. (Patterns of Problematic Thinking Wkst, Challenging Questions Wkst, PCL-S, ABC Wkst, etc.) The training provides education on providing PTSD screenings weekly as well as a module CPT-C, which is included in this training, for individuals who are not able to complete an impact statement. During the training participants will engage in activities that allow them to practice this new therapy modality.  There is a $59 fee for this workshop (materials included).  Registration is required.
