The Psychedelic Renaissance, Energy Healing, & Pain Management

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

Psychedelics, including the plant medicines, Ayahuasca and Psilocybin have been experiencing a renaissance in the media as burgeoning research indicate the efficacy of these substances with treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Along with the increasing popularity of psychedelics is ancient energy healing practices to treat emotional, psychological, and physical pain. Integrative Social Work (ISW), a developing area of practice includes research on psychedelics as a treatment modality, the influence of Wi-Fi and EMFs on human consciousness, and Eastern cultural healing practices. Healing practices including emotional freedom techniques (tapping), acupressure, acupuncture, sound bathing, and others provide a foundation for ISW practices. Integrative Social Work is quickly expanding to include research on psychedelics, as some cities and states have decriminalized the use of psychedelics, including Ann Arbor, MI. This workshop will include three CE Clock Hours in ethics and will explore a variety of ethical considerations, including professional competence when working in an evolving area, the importance of cultural competency when providing services that integrate ancient and indigenous spiritual and cultural practices, appropriately acknowledging and giving credit to avoid risks associated with cultural appropriation, promoting client self-determination and more.
