Course Description:
Much attention has been given, rightfully so, to the impact of the COVID pandemic on health & well-being, education, housing, the economy, and employment. Its long-term impact on families who were pregnant or parenting in the earliest phases of the upheaval will continue to emerge. This workshop explores the role of intergenerational trauma, social isolation, poverty, loss, and the threat of loss in the variations in infant and young children’s social development. It will offer suggestions for IECMH practitioners who are striving to help families with young children adjust to a post-pandemic world.
