Trauma, Resiliency, and Horse Sense

Course Description:

A discussion with the author of "Follow Me, Friend: a memoir of undiagnosed PTSD, and the healing power of the horse-human relationship" regarding her personal experience living for over 25 years with the symptoms of PTSD from childhood sexual abuse she did not consciously remember, and the help she received as an adult through therapeutic interventions and her connection with horses.

Followed by a presentation on the psychological, emotional, social, and developmental impacts of early childhood trauma and the effects into adulthood and the potential of equine assisted therapy as an adjunct intervention for children and adults dealing with trauma.
