Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide foundational information needed to prevent suicide among adolescents and young adults. Because preventing suicide requires a multi-level approach and the research is evolving, we consider this training as an introduction to seminal information. We recommend you obtain additional training related to suicide prevention throughout your career. By the end of this course, you will be able to: Identify risk factors and warning signs of potential suicidal behaviors as well as protective factors Communicate with youth who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts Identify evidence-informed practices that have been found to be effective for individuals who experience suicidal thoughts
