Physiatry and rehabilitative medicine provides integrated, multidisciplinary care aimed at recovery of the whole person by addressing physical, emotional, medical, vocational, and social needs. It is important for clinicians to understand that individuals with health conditions or injuries may require rehabilitation across the course of their lifespan. This presentation will provide information on the broad and diverse settings of the rehabilitation care continuum and the roles of different members of the rehabilitation team. The influence of rehabilitation placement recommendations and proposed future reimbursement proposals will also be presented.
